Each one of us is different in our daily lives, in the way we eat, or even sleep. We have different lifestyles, hobbies and especially... very different ways of feeding ourselves!

Skipping meals, eating late at night, having just one meal a day, eating in front of the TV, drinking alcohol and eating out regularly... these are only a few of the "bad" habits that can put you  on the wrong track.

And when you get into a routine, it is only a matter of time until those extra kilos start showing.

What happens next? You try to get rid of those kilos as quickly as possible... which adds to the list of "bad and wrong eating behaviors!"

photoYou can get confused about what you should or shouldn't eat, what you should avoid or increase. That's  why understanding your food is a must.

Here are some easy "tips" you can start applying right now:

 

- Have 3 meals a day, and include 1 or 2 snacks

- Your breakfast should include some carbohydrate (slice of bread, or a cup of cereals, for    example) , a fruit or fresh fruit juice and a glass of milk, a yogurt or some cheese

- Avoid eating in front of the TV,  as you could be eating much more, without even realizing it!

- Don't forget to be active on a daily basis: take the stairs instead of the lift, find an activity you    enjoy (hip-hop classes, swimming, tennis...) that you could practice at least twice a week

- Avoid fizzy drinks: drink more water!

- Try to eat mostly home cooked food, and limit deliveries to twice a week

- If you are a desert or chocolate lover (like most of us are), have a smaller piece then what    you're used to, or share it with a friend. It will help you reduce your intake of fat and sugar.

 

These are only a few ideas to help you be healthy and to get used to maintain a regular eating pattern, which is the most important thing when you want to avoid gaining weight. Don't "diet" and "deprive" yourself of anything, just be healthy by eating small, regular meals. Avoid too much fried food, and don't forget to get some exercise.  It's not that hard. You just have to start, and follow these simple steps.
