Editor's note
If you've never tried Yoga in your life, you're probably thinking: "how is stretching in some twisted posture and meditating going to help me get a killer body?"
Well the answer is: you'll never know until you try it. But the proof is here: whether Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, or another dozen of Celebs with perfect bodies ever over forty, maybe it's time we learn the tricks of the trade... and get a mat.
These postures are easy breasy, and with just 15 minutes a day, you'll notice a difference. Your body is sure to tone up and look great. And there's not better time to start then July.
1. Awkward Pose
legs, butt, triceps
Feet hip-width apart. Bring your arms straight in front of you, fingers together, like you're trying to touch the wall in front of you. Sink down as if you’re sinking into a chair. Now bring your back and head towards the back a little, with your full weight on your heels. Hold for about one minute. Repeat 4 times.
2. Tree Pose
abs and thighs
Stand up straight, shifting your body weight on to your right foot. Lift your left leg up, and place the sole of your feet onto your hip, or onto your right inner thigh. Then put your palms together in front of your chest. Hold it for 5-10 breaths. Repeat with the second leg. Then repeat the entire sequence.
3. Pigeon Posture
chest and thighs
Lie back with your knees bent and the soles of your feet on the floor. Cross your left ankle over your right knee and flex your foot, then pull your right knee in toward your chest. Wrap around your hamstring and gently draw your knee towards the chest.
4. Cobra Pose
spine, butt and abs
Lie down on your stomach. Place your hands underneath your shoulders, palms facing down. Now lift up with the strength of your back and butt, until just your bellybutton is touching the floor. Your legs are together, one block. Hold one minute and repeat twice.
Let's blog this

Introducing yours truly... I'm here to talk about myself! And before I take you on a ride each week, as I experience detox dieting, look for the latest fashion items or go through a crazy intensive full-body workout, I thought you know a little bit about me. So here we go!
I’m 25 years old, I live in Beirut, and I drive an adorable, Red Fiat 500. My favorite things in world are books, chocolate, and my laptop –If I had those three things alone (with an internet connection) I could probably live on a desert island for about a month… okay, a week.
I love the smell of coffee in the morning, driving on a Sunday afternoon when the roads are empty, or being surprised by blue skies and sun in February.
I can spend hours on end watching addictive TV series, and trust me, I’ve seen it all: Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Alias, Lost… and a few more that I wont even mention!
I love travelling, but I hate planes and I get serious panic attacks every time there’s turbulence… I’ve live in Paris, New York, and Beirut, and I’m definitely a city girl. But the most beautiful city in the world for me is Rome.
One of my favorite things to do is to read a book from cover to cover in one go: and I’ve done it three times in my life, for “Not without my daughter,” “The DaVinci Code” and more recently, “The girl with the dragon tattoo.” But I’m not all books… I also enjoy spending hours in a shopping street, and then walking out holding some twenty bags, and pretending like I’m Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I love fashion, but only when I can take it apart and make it my own. Oh yes, and I’m a big movie fan too… and like most girls one of my top romantic films/stories is… The Notebook. If you haven’t seen it, go rent it now. Call you friends, get a big box of tissues, and then let me know what happens!
When I’m feeling down, I call up my friends and invite them for dinner… and spending the next two hours cooking up new recipes is one of the best ways for me to relax. By the way, I make the most amazing Red Velvet Cupcakes –and I have people who will testify on my behalf.
Hum… I live at home with my dad, my sister and my brother. My sister is 20 years old, and we have to share a room… so I’m sure you can picture the disaster or two girls, 400kg of clothes, 56 pairs of shoes and just two closets. And that’s not even mentioning my 307 books.
Other particular things about me? Well, I’ve had the same adorable boyfriend for the last 2 years (and he will kill me if he sees this, but thankfully, he never ever reads more than 4 lines in a row); I’ve had the same group of friends since high-school; I love yellow and painted my entire room that color; I wrote a book when I was 12; I’m obsessed with Bikram Yoga (just google it, it’s easier); and I wear a gold ring with a little heart on my right ring-finger, which my mother gave me when I was 9-years old.
Oh, and I’m a Gemini. So beware of my two personalities!
